Alexander Vindman is a retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel and national security expert who became a New York Times bestselling author with his memoir Here, Right Matters: An American Story (2021), which recounts his military career, service on the National Security Council, and role in the first Trump impeachment inquiry. He followed it with The Folly of Realism: How the West Deceived Itself About Russia and Betrayed Ukraine (2025), a foreign-policy analysis of U.S.-Russia and U.S.-Ukraine relations.
