Ryan Effgen is a fiction writer whose work has appeared in Best New American Voices, Fiction magazine, Painted Bride Quarterly, and elsewhere. He has received creative-writing fellowships from the Virginia Commission for the Arts and George Mason University. Make Nice is his debut novel; he is also working on a novel about a married couple on a road trip.
