Jane Friedman is a nonfiction author, editor, educator, and publishing-industry commentator who has worked in publishing for more than 25 years. She began in book and magazine publishing, later serving in leadership roles at Writer’s Digest and the Virginia Quarterly Review, and now writes and teaches about authorship, publishing, and the business of building a writing career. Her books include The Business of Being a Writer and The Authors Guild Guide to Self-Publishing.
