Donald J. Sobol was an American author best known for the Encyclopedia Brown series of children’s mystery books, which began in 1963. He also created the Two-Minute Mysteries series, wrote more than 65 books on subjects including history and biography, and contributed to magazines under various pen names. His work earned a Special Edgar Award from the Mystery Writers of America in 1975.
