Cynthia Kraack is a Minnesota author of fiction, short stories, and creative nonfiction. She began her professional writing career as a journalist and later worked in corporate communications before earning an MFA in creative writing and publishing novels including Minnesota Cold, the Ashwood speculative-fiction trilogy, and The High Cost of Flowers, which won Midwest Book Awards. She co-wrote the narrative military history 40 Thieves on Saipan with Joseph Tachovsky.
