Robert Lacey is a British historian and biographer whose writing career began with historical biographies of figures such as Robert, Earl of Essex, and Sir Walter Raleigh. He became widely known for bestselling works on Queen Elizabeth II and the British monarchy, as well as books about Saudi Arabia, Henry Ford, Meyer Lansky, Princess Grace of Monaco, and Sotheby’s. He has also served as the historical consultant for Netflix’s The Crown and written its official companion volumes.
