R. Allen Chappell is an American author best known for the Navajo Nation Mystery series, which is rooted in the people, history, and landscapes of the Four Corners region. Having grown up with, attended school alongside, and later worked with Navajo people, Chappell draws on those experiences and enduring friendships to inform his fiction. He lives in western Colorado and maintains a strong interest in the prehistory and cultures of the Southwest.
