Clay Fisher was the pen name of Henry Wilson Allen (1912–1991), an American author and screenwriter who also wrote as Will Henry and Heck Allen. Beginning with his first Western novel in 1952, he published more than 50 novels about the American West, with many featuring frontier life, Native American conflict, and historical figures; eight were adapted into films. Allen was a five-time Spur Award winner and received the Levi Strauss Award for lifetime achievement.
