David Shih is a science-fiction and fantasy author who writes alongside a career as an advertising creative director, with professional experience on brands including Jeep and Sony. An avid reader of Heinlein, Tolkien, and Roger Zelazny, he writes high-concept speculative fiction, including the post-apocalyptic, LitRPG-leaning The Re-Write Cycle novels Offline God and System Breach. Chinese Prodigal is a memoir by a different David Shih, a University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire professor, so the Audible listing appears to conflate two authors.
