Charles Murray is an American political scientist, author, and libertarian public intellectual. He began his writing career with Losing Ground (1984), later coauthored the bestseller The Bell Curve (1994), and has written extensively on welfare, education, class, regulation, human differences, and individual liberty, including By the People and Facing Reality. He is the W. H. Brady Scholar at the American Enterprise Institute.
