Johnny Mercer is a British author and former Army captain who served for twelve years in 29 Commando, including three tours of Afghanistan. He began his writing career with We Were Warriors, a bestselling military memoir about frontline combat and life in the armed forces. His second book, No Way to Run a Country, is a political memoir about his years as a Conservative MP and cabinet minister.
