David Hackett Fischer is an American historian, author, and longtime Brandeis University professor. His writing spans narrative histories of major events and figures, including Washington's Crossing, Paul Revere's Ride, and Champlain's Dream; broad studies of American culture and society, such as Albion's Seed; and works on historiography and historical method. He won the Pulitzer Prize for History for Washington's Crossing.
