Richard J. Evans is a British historian and nonfiction author specializing in modern European and German history. He taught at Columbia University, Birkbeck, and the University of Cambridge, where he became Regius Professor Emeritus of History in 2014. His writing career includes the acclaimed three-volume history of the Third Reich, works on historical method and memory, and broad surveys such as The Pursuit of Power and Hitler's People.
