Tess Burnett is a Dorset-based British author who began writing seriously in her late fifties after working in retail, catering, finance, education, and local government. Her debut novel, The Hanging of Hettie Gale, won the 2022 Dorset Literary Festival local writers’ prize, and she later signed a two-book deal with Bloodhound Books. Her fiction is inspired by myths, legends, landscape, and nature.
