Matt Birkbeck is an award-winning investigative journalist and author whose nonfiction focuses on true crime, organized crime, celebrity lives, and other deeply reported human-interest stories. A former People correspondent and reporter for The Morning Call, he has written for publications including The New York Times, Reader’s Digest, Playboy, Rolling Stone, and The Philadelphia Inquirer. His books include A Beautiful Child, Finding Sharon, A Deadly Secret, The Quiet Don, Deconstructing Sammy, and The Life We Chose; A Beautiful Child and Finding Sharon were adapted into Netflix’s Girl in the Picture, for which he served as executive producer.
