Stephen Budiansky is an American historian, biographer, journalist, and Guggenheim Fellow who has written numerous books of biography, history, science, and natural history. Since becoming a full-time author in 1998, he has focused especially on intellectual and creative biographies, military history, intelligence and espionage, cryptology, and the relationship between humans and animals. His journalism and criticism have appeared in publications including Nature, The Atlantic, The New York Times, The Washington Post, and The Wall Street Journal.
