Martin Meredith is a British journalist, historian, biographer, and author who has written extensively about Africa and its modern history. He began his writing career as a foreign correspondent for The Observer and The Sunday Times, later became a research fellow at St Antony’s College, Oxford, and went on to write acclaimed works on African history, including The Fate of Africa, Diamonds, Gold, and War, Born in Africa, and The Fortunes of Africa.
