Cynthia Harrod-Eagles is a British novelist who began writing while at university and won the Young Writers’ Award in 1972 for The Waiting Game. She became a full-time writer in 1979 after the success of the historical Morland Dynasty series, which chronicles British history through a fictional family. She also writes the Bill Slider police mysteries, historical sagas including War at Home and Ashmore Castle, and romance novels, sometimes under the pseudonyms Emma Woodhouse and Elizabeth Bennett.
