Deborah Swift is an English historical novelist living in the Lake District. Before publishing her first novel, The Lady’s Slipper, in 2010, she worked as a set and costume designer for theatre and television; she later earned an MA in Creative Writing from Lancaster University and combined writing with teaching. Her work spans seventeenth-century historical fiction, Samuel Pepys-inspired novels, and World War II stories featuring romance, espionage, resistance, and survival; she also writes as Davina Blake.
