Rick Perlstein is an American historian, journalist, and writer best known for his narrative histories of the rise of modern American conservatism. His books include Before the Storm, Nixonland, The Invisible Bridge, and Reaganland; Before the Storm won the 2001 Los Angeles Times Book Prize for History. His essays, reviews, and political reporting have appeared in publications including The New York Times, The Washington Post, The New Yorker, The Nation, Slate, and The Village Voice.
