Michael Norman is a former police officer, Utah state parole board member, and Weber State University criminal justice professor who began writing fiction after a long career in law enforcement and academia. His debut novel, The Commission, launched the Sam Kincaid mystery series and was named one of Publishers Weekly’s best books of 2007; he later wrote the J.D. Books contemporary western mystery series and award-winning western short stories.
