Erik Hedegaard is an American journalist and author who has written for Rolling Stone, Men’s Journal, Outside, Details, and other publications. A longtime Rolling Stone contributing editor, he is known for deeply reported profiles of musicians, entertainers, and other cultural figures. His books include Meeting Manson, an autobiographical true-crime memoir about his reporting relationship with Charles Manson, and Cruel & Unusual, a biography of Grady Stiles, the “Lobster Boy.”
