Yoshiki Tanaka is a Japanese novelist born in Kumamoto in 1952. He made his fiction debut in 1978 after winning the Gen'eijo New Writer Award, and later won the Seiun Award for Legend of the Galactic Heroes in 1988. His prolific career spans science fiction, fantasy, historical fiction, mystery, and adaptations or arranged translations of classical Chinese literature.
