Johanna Lindsey (1952–2019) was an American romance novelist whose writing career began with the publication of Captive Bride in 1977. She wrote more than 50 novels, primarily historical romances, many of which became New York Times bestsellers; her books sold more than 60 million copies worldwide and were translated into numerous languages. Her work also included paranormal and science-fiction romance.
