She began her writing career with Sullivan’s Island and went on to publish 20 novels, many set in the South Carolina Lowcountry and centered on family, friendship, relationships, and resilient women. Her books, including Queen Bee, By Invitation Only, and The Hurricane Sisters, became known for their Southern settings, humor, and strong female protagonists.
