Lorrie Moore is an American fiction writer best known for her witty, poignant short stories and novels, including Self-Help, Birds of America, Who Will Run the Frog Hospital?, A Gate at the Stairs, and I Am Homeless If This Is Not My Home. Her fiction and nonfiction have appeared in major literary publications, and she has received honors including the Rea Award for the Short Story, the PEN/Malamud Award, and the National Book Critics Circle Award for Fiction.
