Gwen Strauss is an American author whose work spans poetry, children’s books, essays, and narrative nonfiction. She is the author of the New York Times bestseller The Nine, about her great-aunt’s escape from a German forced-labor camp, and Milena and Margarete, a historical account of two women who met and fell in love in Ravensbrück. Her writing has appeared in publications including The New Republic, the London Sunday Times, New England Review, and Kenyon Review.
