Judea Pearl is an Israeli-American computer scientist, philosopher, and UCLA professor emeritus whose writing focuses on artificial intelligence, probabilistic reasoning, and causality. He authored influential technical works including Heuristics, Probabilistic Reasoning in Intelligent Systems, and Causality, and coauthored the popular science book The Book of Why: The New Science of Cause and Effect with Dana Mackenzie.
