Shayla Hale, formerly known as Shayla Raquel, spent 14 years in publishing as an author, editor, marketer, and writing mentor. She has written fiction, poetry, and books on author branding, and now teaches fiction writing to incarcerated women while leading Crime & Compassion Inc., a nonprofit that helps incarcerated writers publish their work. She is also associated with the anthology Unbound Ink: Of Mercy and Madness.
