Gordon Thomas (1933–2017) was a Welsh political and investigative journalist and bestselling author of more than forty books. A former foreign correspondent and BBC writer-producer, he became especially known for deeply researched nonfiction about espionage, intelligence agencies, war, political crises, and historical disasters, including Gideon’s Spies, Voyage of the Damned, Enola Gay, and The Day the Bubble Burst. His books sold more than 45 million copies worldwide, and several were adapted for film and television.
