Lita Hooper is a poet, educator, photographer, and film producer whose writing has appeared in literary journals and major anthologies of African American poetry and social and political literature. She is the author of the chapbooks Legacy and The Journal of Sojourner Truth, the critical biography The Art of Work: The Art and Life of Haki Madhubuti, and Thunder in Her Voice: The Narrative of Sojourner Truth. She also co-edited 44 on 44, an anthology of African American writing about Barack Obama's election.
