Weina Dai Randel is an award-winning author of historical novels, including The Moon in the Palace, The Empress of Bright Moon, The Last Rose of Shanghai, Night Angels, and The Master Jeweler. Born and raised in China, she came to the United States at age 24 and has worked as a journalist, magazine editor, and adjunct professor. She earned an M.A. in English from Texas Woman’s University, where she was inspired to write about Empress Wu of China; her novels have received major awards and nominations and have been translated into numerous languages.
