Sarah L. Hawthorn is a Canadian horror and speculative-fiction writer based in Halifax/Kjipuktuk, Nova Scotia. Their debut novel, A Fate Worse Than Drowning, is a queer historical-fantasy and gothic-horror story published by Sourcebooks/Poisoned Pen Press in 2026. Their short fiction has appeared in The Arcanist and the Queer Blades anthology, and they hold a bachelor’s degree in public relations from Mount Saint Vincent University.
