A. K. Blakemore is a London-based poet and novelist. She began publishing poetry in the 2010s, releasing the collections Humbert Summer and Fondue, and later moved into historical fiction with The Manningtree Witches, which won the Desmond Elliott Prize. Her subsequent novels The Glutton and Doom Painting continue her focus on immersive, vividly rendered historical subjects.
