Richard David Bach is an American author and former U.S. Air Force pilot whose writing career began with aviation articles and his 1963 book Stranger to the Ground. He became internationally known for Jonathan Livingston Seagull (1970), followed by inspirational and philosophical works such as Illusions, The Bridge Across Forever, and One, as well as memoirs and books about flying.
