Ellen Raskin (1928–1984) was an American writer, illustrator, and graphic designer who primarily created books for children. She wrote and illustrated numerous picture books and four children's novels, including Figgs & Phantoms and The Westing Game, which won the 1979 Newbery Medal. Before becoming an author, she designed more than 1,000 book jackets, including the first-edition cover for A Wrinkle in Time.
