Roman Dial is an Alaskan explorer, biologist, and longtime professor of mathematics and biology at Alaska Pacific University. He wrote Packrafting! An Introduction and How-to Guide (2008), a practical guide to packrafting, and The Adventurer’s Son (2020), a memoir about his two-year search for his son Cody after Cody disappeared in Costa Rica.
