Mike Campbell is a former U.S. Navy journalist and civilian public-affairs officer who turned a decades-long investigation into Amelia Earhart’s disappearance into the books With Our Own Eyes: Eyewitnesses to the Final Days of Amelia Earhart and Amelia Earhart: The Truth at Last. He later published Heartbreaker, a memoir co-written with Ari Surdoval about his career as Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ lead guitarist, co-songwriter, and co-producer.
