Originally from Sydney, Australia, Swan began his journalism career as a teenage copy boy, later covering Australian federal politics for The Sydney Morning Herald before working at The Hill and Axios. He is the coauthor of Regime Change: Inside the Imperial Presidency of Donald Trump.
