Robert M. Edsel is an American nonfiction author whose writing focuses on the preservation of art and cultural treasures during World War II. After moving from the oil and gas industry into historical research, he wrote Rescuing Da Vinci, The Monuments Men, Saving Italy, The Greatest Treasure Hunt in History, and Remember Us. He also co-produced the documentary The Rape of Europa and founded the Monuments Men and Women Foundation.
