Mohamed Mbougar Sarr is a Senegalese novelist who writes in French. His debut novel, Terre ceinte (2015), won major literary prizes, followed by The Silence of the Choir (2017) and De purs hommes (2018). His fourth novel, The Most Secret Memory of Men (2021), won the Prix Goncourt, making him the first writer from sub-Saharan Africa to receive the award.
