Dawnie Walton is an American novelist, journalist, and editor. She formerly worked as an editor at Essence and Entertainment Weekly and earned an MFA from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. Her debut novel, The Final Revival of Opal & Nev, was published in 2021 and received major literary awards; her short fiction and essays have appeared in publications including Oxford American, Bon Appétit, NPR, and LitHub.
