Thomas Louis Berger (1924–2014) was an American novelist who published 23 novels, beginning with Crazy in Berlin in 1958. He became best known for Little Big Man (1964), a satirical, picaresque reimagining of the American West that was adapted into a 1970 film. Berger wrote across many forms, including crime fiction, science fiction, fantasy, historical fiction, myth retellings, and darkly comic novels about American middle-class life; The Feud was a 1984 Pulitzer Prize finalist.
