Rosa Montero is a Spanish journalist, novelist, essayist, and biographer from Madrid. She began working as a journalist in 1970 and has written for El País since 1977, while publishing her first novel, La crónica del desamor, in 1979. Her wide-ranging career includes novels, biographies, interviews, short stories, essays, and children's books, with works translated into nearly thirty languages.
