Rebecca D. Elswick is an Appalachian author and lifelong educator from southwestern Virginia. Her award-winning short fiction and nonfiction have appeared in journals and anthologies, and her debut novel, Mama’s Shoes, was published after she won the Writer’s Digest Pitch2Win contest. She later published No Stopping Her and The Dream Is the Truth, a novel released in 2025.
