James Daniel Lowder is an American novelist, short-fiction writer, anthologist, editor, and game designer who has worked extensively in fantasy and horror since the late 1980s. He began with shared-world novels for TSR’s Forgotten Realms and Ravenloft lines, including Crusade, The Ring of Winter, Prince of Lies, Knight of the Black Rose, and Spectre of the Black Rose, before expanding into creator-owned fiction, comics, role-playing games, criticism, and anthologies. He has also directed major fiction lines and edited acclaimed collections, including the Books of Flesh zombie-anthology series.
