Richard Baker is an American author and award-winning game designer whose fiction career began with the Forgotten Realms novel Easy Betrayals in 1998. He went on to write numerous Forgotten Realms novels, including The Last Mythal and Blades of the Moonsea trilogies, before publishing original science fiction and alternate-history novels such as the military SF series Breaker of Empires. A former U.S. Navy officer, Baker often draws on military history and strategy in his writing.
