Christopher Isherwood (1904–1986) was an English-born American novelist, playwright, screenwriter, autobiographer, and diarist. He established his reputation with novels drawn from his experiences in 1930s Berlin, especially Mr Norris Changes Trains and Goodbye to Berlin, later collected as The Berlin Stories. His writing career also included literary fiction, travel writing, memoirs, autobiographies, plays, screenplays, and books on Vedanta and Hindu spirituality.
