María Dueñas is a Spanish novelist and former English Philology professor at the University of Murcia. After two decades in academia, she made her literary debut in 2009 with El tiempo entre costuras (The Time in Between), a bestselling historical novel that established her internationally. Her subsequent novels, including Misión Olvido, La Templanza, Las hijas del capitán, and Sira, have been translated into numerous languages and adapted for television.
