Ancient Renewal is an imprint of writer and book designer Sam Torode, who publishes contemporary editions and paraphrases of classic philosophical and spiritual works. Torode began as an illustrator, designer, and essayist before self-publishing his humorous novel The Dirty Parts of the Bible, which became a bestseller in humorous fiction. He later focused on rendering writers such as Epictetus, Marcus Aurelius, and Ralph Waldo Emerson in accessible modern language, while continuing to write fiction, spiritual nonfiction, and graphic novels.
